I bought this jacket in M for my daughter. I am typically a L. I was in a rush one day, and it was sitting by the door. I threw it on. It was 18F. I expected it would be tight and uncomfortable. I was wearing just a tshirt underneath, and I was amazed how comfortable I was! I didn't want to take it off. For a puffer-style jacket, it felt like a second skin. It is lightweight and cozy! The waterproof exterior is soft, not heavy like other waterproof coats I have. It was technically a tad snug for me in a M, yet I could bend my arms and didn't feel constricted--and I have broader shoulders. Love the soft, warm fleece pockets! Love the hood. Love the zipper plus snap buttons to really keep the cold air out and insulate me. Couldn't feel the chill through it at all. Size up from your normal size if you want to wear a sweater inside. Purchased the olive color, and it's as beautiful as pictured. The feel of the jacket is much like my favorite Northface jacket. Getting one of these for myself now!

Great coat, but I have a large chest. It fit tight across the chest, so I had to return because I could not layer underneath. But well made and warm coat.

I'm 5'3" 115"lbs 32C/25/36. The xs is a snug but comfy fit with a medium weight sweater. Arms aren't too long and length is good too! Just covers my rear. Feels extremely warm so probably no need for layers! Nice material. I like the matte black.

It's been my winter stable since I got it a few weeks ago. It's warm with 550 fill power and very soft to touch while not looking bulky. I appreciate the option to zip, button or both and the inside secure pocket. I'm usually XS-S here, but got S and it was perfect. The color (spruce) was spot on. I'm very pleased with my purchase.

I absolutely LOVE this jacket! I needed a something for in between a lightweight jacket, and my EB Superior Down Jacket, which I wear when NJ winters turn harsh. This one fit the bill. I ordered online, hoping it would fit since I couldn't try it on. Upped one size to allow for layering. I was pleasantly surprised when it arrived. It fit slightly big, which is perfect for layering. A very flattering coat, as well! Not boxy looking at all! The few times I have worn it so far, it kept me quite warm.

The medium fit perfectly for my frame. It's not too bulky and it's long enough to cover my butt. I love the matte color. The side pockets have a zipper to secure my belongings. The hood is big enough to cover my head.

True black, hooded, and warm enough for 45° nights. It's perfectly in between my lightweight down jackets and winter coats. It doesn't feel bulky, but there's plenty of room to layer!

I bought this jacket for a 7-day winter trip in Europe. I traveled through rain, snow, wind, and felt comfortable and warm the entire time. I love the option to zip, button or both. I also liked that it had an inside breast pocket (the inside pocket is a Velcro closure - kind of wish it was bigger and had a zip) and the two zip pockets on the side. The zip pockets were lined and very warm, which was nice on those cold days. I wear mostly size 16 clothing and I'm glad I got the XXL, if I had sized down it would have been too tight around the hip area.

This is one of the best jackets I have ever bought from Eddie Bauer. I love the fit and the style. It is very well made and warm. I am 5'4" and purchased a medium. I use it mainly for hiking/walking. You will not be disappointed in this jacket!

The cut bubbles up some because its too light. I found because of that it makes you look much bigger. So it could be more flattering.. It is a medium warmth, I was expecting warmer and more structure and less flimsy like. Overall the coat is ideal but needs those improvements. Pockets are great, they are lined with fleece ,big enough for my apple pro max iphone. I love the solid color and over all look. But it bubbles too much for my preference.

I recently ordered this Women's Essential Down Hooded Jacket. It was on sale at a fabulous discount. My go-to winter jacket has seen better days, so this sale seemed timely, even though it's July! The jacket is quite substantial, heavier than I expected. I can't test its ability to keep me warm during winter, but I suspect I will feel quite toasty while wearing it. The online description stated that the jacket is a generous fit in order to allow layers to be worn. Well, it's sort of generous. Under the jacket I should be able to wear one medium weight sweater or fleece top, but nothing bulky. Sizing up wouldn't help, as a medium would be too large for my height, weight and arm length. The jacket is not form fitting but doesn't look overly square. The two outer pockets have zippers and their fleece lining is soft and warm. However, the one inner pocket would benefit from a zippered closing. This pocket measures 6" long, and its only means of closure is a small strip of Velcro midway on the pocket edge. The Velcro measures 1.5" in length and 0.5" in width, which leaves the pocket not very secure. My iPhone (pro model) barely fits with the Velcro closed. A set of keys would fit, but they'd probably fall out, since the Velcro strip leaves large gaps at either end. At least the outer pockets have those secure zippers. Overall I'm happy with this purchase, particularly with the price I paid.

I just bought it and considering exchanging for a bigger size. I love it but I have wide shoulders. I wish there was a little more room in the shoulders. Everywhere else it fit perfectly! The jacket is very flattering & will go with everything! I also prefer zip off hoods!

Jacket is warm and good quality...but good luck placing a return. Not only did I face misogynistic comments from customer service, but was told I would not receive a refund until December despite placing my return in October. Until this company improves their e-commerce, I will not be ordering from here again and I recommend you do the same.
