As winter transforms into spring, you might find yourself reaching for versatile layers that keep unpredictable weather at bay without adding too much weight. Recently, we sat down with Colton Christian, our digital product manager, to find out more about his role at Eddie Bauer and to ask about a few of his favorite products.

What’s your favorite thing you wore on the winter shoot and why?

The Faultline shirt and pants were my favorite picks from the shoot. I’m not usually into matching sets, but I loved the green combination and wore it throughout the winter. The corduroy is thick and warm, and I also picked up the same shirt in a different color.

Which Eddie Bauer piece is on your wish list right now?

New work pants! I have a pair of Capacitor Work Pants and have been considering getting another pair. I’m a big fan of the fit and the strength of the fabric. The CORDURA® canvas has held up well so far for all my outdoor projects.
What’s your favorite spring activity?
Any and everything outdoors is my favorite now that winter is coming to an end. On our little farm, spring means that it’s time to get seeds and seedlings into the ground and start back up on outdoor projects. This year, we’re hatching more baby chicks! Plus, warmer weather and rain mean it’s time to go mushroom foraging, so we’ll be exploring our local state parks and forests all season!
What’s your favorite year-round Eddie Bauer product?

In Seattle, an almost year-round favorite of mine is the First Ascent Super Sevens Rains Jacket. This was one of my first purchases when I joined Eddie Bauer. When compared to other rain jackets from other outdoor brands, this is by far the best I’ve found. It’s super lightweight and breathable, but it keeps you completely dry. I got mine a little bigger to layer warmer layers underneath and find myself grabbing this jacket more than my insulated ones because of the versatility. I’ve already put my jacket through the ringer, and it still looks brand new!
