BIG MOUNTAIN CHARGER, ENVIRONMENTAL STEWARD, SKI-FILM STAR, BACKCOUNTRY PILOT, PROLIFIC INSTAGRAMMER
When it comes to positive energy, Lexi duPont charges at a speed few can match. Whether slaying massive Alaskan spines, stomping deep pillow stacks, or building her pre-season fitness via crushing workouts, she leaves most—including most of the men—in her dust. Nominated 4 times for best female performance by Powder Magazine for her part in the Poor Boyz Productions film Tracing Skylines, short films Why So Serious, Maximizing Moments, and Love To Your Mother, duPont has accelerated her meteoric rise with a steady stream of global ski missions that have elevated her status and given her a spot on an elite female roster of big-line stars. She was also featured in Pretty Faces, an all-female ski flick nominated as best ski film by Powder Magazine. The proof is in the film and in the footage.
Born to generations of skiers in Sun Valley Idaho, educated in at the University Of Colorado Boulder, and mentored by the big-line AK wisdom of Reggie Crist and Will Wissman, duPont launched her career on the Freeride World Tour, then landed a breakout appearance in Warren Miller’s Wintervention, which captured ski trips to Svalbard Norway and Southern Utah. She has now trained her fierce focus on the search for steep lines, deep pillows, sick segments, and using her voice to advocate for natural resources. She has captained Team Superheroes at the 2014 Orage Masters, Placed 4th in Red Bull Cold Rush, Silverton and 3rd in Red Bull Cold Rush, Revelstoke. She followed up her rookie PBP effort with a part in TWENTY, journeyed to the deep powder of Japan, Kyrgyzstan, Chile, Argentina, Canada and Alaska. Filmed again with Warren Miller in the most hushed zones of interior BC, Norther Alaska, France and Italy. What really separates from other women in her field is her dedication to the South East Alaskan Range. Lexi is fast approaching her 10th season in Alaska, tackling the world-class arena of Haines in places where no other woman has skied before.
In the off-season, this five-foot-two whirlwind spends her time building strength and fitness, relaxing in her geodesic Idaho dome, piloting bush planes around the Idaho backcountry, and enjoying the sun on her surf board. A member of the Global K2 Ski Team, du Pont is never too shy to speak her mind or to go head-to-head with government officials on climate change action.
