From Argentina to Alaska to the steep, stacked terrain of Silverton, Colorado, Chris chases winter in world-class freeride meccas. The first shred to stomp the Rocker’s Gap at Brighton, Utah, he landed on the cover of Snowboarder Magazine in 2006. He’s also appeared in multiple snowboard films, including Promo Copy and Futureproof. A snowboarder for more than 20 years, Chris took up splitboarding in 2007 to push deeper into the backcountry and higher on Alaskan heli spines. An esteemed member of the Jones Snowboards Ambassador Guide team, he’s taught avy education for the Utah Avalanche Center, and guides for SASS Global Travel, Silverton Mountain, and SEABA Heli. When not guiding, Chris works as a snowboard patroller and licensed blaster at Silverton Mountain. In his downtime, he lands back in Utah to hone his sharp-end skills on classic rock routes and runs a bike-powered smoothie stand at the SLC Farmer’s Market.
